Self-styled seer Dhirendra Shastri, popularly known as Bageshwar Baba, has once again spoken about his marriage plans, or rather, his family’s plans for him. In a recent conversation with news agency ANI, Shastri revealed that while he isn’t the one pushing for marriage, his family is actively making arrangements.
“Hum toh nahi kar rahe hain, pariwaar wale karwa rahe hain (I’m not doing it, but my family is getting it done),” he said with a smile. When asked when the wedding might take place, Shastri responded lightly, “Pata nahi ab kab karwaye ge woh par karwaye ge woh (I don’t know when they’ll do it, but they surely will).”
When the interviewer pressed further, saying that the nation wants to know about his marriage, Shastri deflected the attention with a broader message. “Iss desh mein humare iss mudde se zyada bade mudde hain, raastra ka mudda hai, berozgaari ka mudda hai, siksha ka mudda hai, swasth ka mudda hai (There are much bigger issues in this country, national concerns, unemployment, education, and health),” he said.
The interviewer also pointed out that Shastri’s words carry weight given his massive following. He only smiled in response.
The video of the exchange has since gone viral, drawing thousands of views and reactions online. This isn’t the first time Shastri has addressed questions about his personal life. Earlier this year, during the Times Now Summit 2025, he had said that while marriage is on the horizon, his current focus is elsewhere. “My parents and Guruji will decide on this. First, I have some dreams that I see while awake, and I want to fulfill them,” he had said.
