Passengers of a Dubai-bound Air India flight from Mumbai (A1909) had a terrifying experience after the flight got delayed for five hours, leaving them stuck on board. A video showing passengers creating a ruckus, demanding the crew members for an update and asking them to step outside of the aircraft, is doing rounds on the Internet. According to Midday, the flight was originally slated to depart at 8:25 AM. However, it got delayed for over four hours and 45 minutes due to a technical issue. Passengers were deboarded around 1:00 PM after they began to protest inside the aircraft. The now-viral video shows passengers screeching at the cabin crew members, one of them banging the overhead bin. “We don’t trust you,” a passenger can be heard saying. “Open the door,” another passenger said. “Airplane jack needs to be connected, please understand,” the captain can be heard saying in the video. Sharing the clip on Instagram, Tejasvi Anandkumar Soni, a passenger on the flight, wrote, “What a horrible experience for all the passengers flying with @airindia to dubai on flight AI909. The flight that was supposed to take off at 8:25 AM was delayed for 5 hours with passengers (including toddlers and senior citizens) on board without the air condition system working. Passengers started feeling suffocated and yet the crew did not provide any relief until passengers forced them to open the gates and deboard.” Soni further claimed that the captain did not come outside the cockpit to address the issue. “Truly not the kind of experience we expected from an airline owned by one of the most accountable business houses @tata_trusts. The captain not once came out of the cockpit to address the passengers to assuage the situation but only waited inside untill passengers lost their calm after 5 hours waiting patiently,” he wrote. indianexpress.com reached out to Air India for a response, which is awaited. The flight already got delayed for 2 hours and when into carrier, it got more delayed due to ground clearance. Had no food for few hours then, when questioned the hostess, she had an audacity to say that, 'Ground clearance pending, what’s with us'.” “Just flew to Paris with air India & they misplaced my bag. They said they’d send it but it never came. Will never fly them internationally again,” another user commented. “I sometimes feel bad not to choose AirIndia but these incidents remind me why!” a third user said.
