Long-exposure photography has the magical ability to transform ordinary scenes into captivating visual tales.
In a carousel Instagram post shared by @meme.ig, the photographs taken by various photographers across the globe captures the takeoff of an aircraft that unveils into ethereal roads to the sky. Although the photographers remain anonymous, their pictures surely speak a thousand words.
Long exposure photography, characterised by extended shutter speeds, captures this in a single frame, transforming the aircraft’s path into a luminous trail across the canvas of the night sky.
The most striking element of these images is the way the lights on the aircraft meld into a continuous streak, resembling a highway in the heavens.
The prolonged exposure allows the camera to absorb the light emitted by the plane’s navigation lights, landing lights, and runway illumination, blending them together into a luminous ribbon suspended against the dark backdrop of the night sky.
