Lakshya Sen, a shuttler from India, is making waves on the Internet after he beat Indonesia’s Jonatan Christie, world number four, at the 2024 Paris Olympics on Wednesday. Lakshya, 22, triggered a frenzy on social media with his jaw-dropping shot from behind his back, earning commendation from sports enthusiasts and public figures.

Sharing the viral video where Sen pulled off the shot, industrialist Harsh Goenka wrote, “SENsational display today by Lakshya to win over world seed #4 Christie. And this return was truly in-SEN!”

Former Indian cricketer Munaf Patel wrote, “@lakshya_sen you beauty. In first set from 0-5 to win game by 2-0 is simply outstanding.”


 

Sen delivered a sensational performance as he stunned the third seed Jonatan Christie of Indonesia 21-18, 21-12 in his final Group L men’s singles match.
