When a wildfire spread through Nova Scotia in Canada Sunday, a filmmaker accompanied by another man drove in the middle of it. A terrifying video showing them moving in the midst of the blaze has shocked several people online.
The clip shared by Instagram user ibrafilms_ shows the car heading towards plumes of smoke. As they move forward, trees on both sides of the road are seen burning. Red sparks are seen flicking in front of the windshield and a cloud of thick grey smoke is seen in front of the car.

The moments turn quite tense as they move amidst an inferno and the driver chaotically swerves to prevent hitting a car in front. Later, the driver is seen moving steadfastly through thick smoke and huge orange flames engulfing trees. Both cars are seen emerging safely amidst dark clouds of smoke.
“Guys, we, I almost died. The fire is spreading, it’s very serious I’m not kidding. We couldn’t see anything. I was just going to film and yeah. I’m sorry I did that to you that I took you with me. But guys this is really serious,” the filmmaker is heard saying in the video shared by Al Jazeera.
Netizens were left scared after watching the video. A user commented, “Terrifying! Watching this gives me anxiety. I cannot imagine what you were going through while driving. Glad you made it out safely!” Another user wrote, “So scary!” A third user commented, “This is really stupid. My dad was a heli fire fighter for 20 years and says people do stupid shit like that. Fires are so unpredictable especially that close, you can bd gone in an instance – one quick blow of wind. It didnt start around you, you obviously seen it and decided to drive into it.”
Reuters report said a state of local emergency was declared in Halifax after the wildfire caused evacuations and power outages. Several schools were also shut in the affected area.
