Being kind isn’t just about doing nice things once in a while; it’s about having that compassion of always wanting to lend a hand, about being thoughtful, and not needing a pat on the back for it.
Digital creator Zachery Dereniowski shared a reel on his official Instagram @mdmotivator on March 7. It has garnered so many views and shares and has had social media users reaching for tissues.
The video starts with Dereniowski visiting a florist to purchase red roses. He asks for 1,000 roses and tells the owner of the shop he is buying it to hand them over to some senior citizens at a nursing home.
The owner says she has only 100 roses and gives them at half the price, $3 each. Her reason? That he’s doing something nice, it’s an act of kindness that can make anyone happy. She shares that her parents are also senior citizens and making them happy is just what they need. The total comes to $300 (Rs 25,000, approximately).
Dereniowski, like in all his videos, convinces the shop owner to accept $500 (Rs 41,700) as a reward for her thoughtfulness and kindness, despite her saying no to it. “I am going to use it for something good,” she’s heard saying in the video.
The video then shows Dereniowski handing out red roses to senior citizens at the nursing home. The smiles and the reactions on receiving the unexpected gift has the Internet in tears. He asks one lady, “You like roses?” and she responds with, “I love roses”.
An Instagram user commented on the video saying, “I was holding it but that last one lady.” Another user said, “Why no one talking about the shop owner shi is so nice!” A third user expressed, “That last “I’m okay” has me bawling”. A fourth user wrote, “BLESS!! I love them all!! Take care of your elderly.” And a fifth user commented, “my heart nooo!!!!! the joy and love one simple rose can provide.” Another user wrote, “I am a puddle !!!!! Such a great reminder not to neglect and forget our senior citizens!!!!!“
