A video from Brampton, Canada, showing people using soap while bathing in a public lake has sparked widespread anger and raised environmental concerns.
The clip, posted on X by Kirk Lubimov, features two couples lathering up and rinsing off in the water, an act many online pointed out is both harmful to the ecosystem and against the rules. Lubimov captioned it, “Canada’s beaches are turning into baths for foreigners. Canada’s transformation into a third-world country is happening daily.” While he, along with others, speculated that the individuals might be Indian, indianexpress.com could not confirm their nationality.
The footage, now viewed over five million times, has drawn sharp criticism from locals and social media users alike. Many called for police action, arguing the behaviour showed blatant disregard for the environment.
“I thought it was forbidden to do that. Soap is polluting the water,” one user remarked. Another wrote, “Clearly, these individuals need awareness of what is okay vs not okay in a public water body.”

Some comments went further, with one warning, “Your waters will be like the Ganges before you know it,” and another making a sweeping generalisation: “Not foreigners, it’s mostly Indians that do this kind of stuff.”
