If you're an Instagram regular, you must have noticed the rising trend of 'Blue makeup'. Originating from Billie Eilish’s latest song BLUE––the singer’s longest song ever––has inspired a makeup trend wherein fashion and beauty influencers are turning their blues into a visually pleasing video, quite literally. To comprehend the viral trend, one must know the intriguing lore behind Billie’s third album, Hit Me Hard And Soft. BLUE is the melancholic closing song from the album, which belongs to a previously unreleased and leaked song, True Blue. In an interview with Apple Music, Ellish had said the song was inspired after the original song got leaked on social media. The singer said she wrote the song in 2016, around the time Ocean Eyes was released. However, she dropped the song as she thought it had “aged out” of the kind of music she wanted to make. Bothered after True Blue got leaked, Ellish revisited the song and recreated it into the now-viral track, BLUE. The song has not only triggered a frenzy among music connoisseurs but also birthed a new makeup trend. To master this trend, one only needs a vibrant blue makeup look and a blue-coloured outfit. In the viral videos, beauty influencers can be seen dressed in stunning blue outfits, showing their bare face, which is unusual in the social media realm. The influencers then splash water on their face, making a flawless makeup transition featuring bold blue eyes and a subtle look. Going the extra mile, content creator and dancer Anam Darbar pulled off the trend in a swimming pool. The video shows Darbar in a pool. As the song moves forward, she makes a stunning transition, adoring a blue sequinned dress and bold blue eyes. The song captures a heartfelt rhythm about someone who is ‘born bluer than a butterfly.’ Earlier, 'Asoka makeup trend' swamped Instagram reels, inspiring international beauty influencers to recreate Kareena Kapoor's iconic look from the 2001 film, Asoka.
