India’s Most-Searched Travel Destinations Of 2024: Travel has always held a special allure, serving as a gateway to offering new experiences, cultures, and adventures for individuals seeking to reconnect with the world and explore new destinations beyond their daily routines.
The overall travel outlook is undergoing significant transformation, driven by post-pandemic recovery and an inclination for travel destinations that provide authentic and meaningful experiences.
Notably, about 80% of travellers are now visiting only 10% of the world’s tourist destinations, McKinsey recently revealed.
In India, this is reflected in the rising popularity of travelling to offbeat locations alongside traditional tourist hotspots.
As we move into 2025 in the coming days, Google shared India’s Year in Search, where it highlighted the top destinations that Indians have been searching for.

The newly emerging countries in the Caucasus region, such as Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, and Georgia, are increasingly emerging as sought-after travel destinations for Indians in 2024.
The rise in popularity of these destinations is largely fuelled due to the blending of influences from both Europe and Asia, their unique cultures, breathtaking landscapes, rich and ancient civilisation history, and relatively low travel costs, attracting a growing number of tourists from India and worldwide.
Ayodhya, the holy city in Uttar Pradesh, India, has witnessed a massive rise in popularity this year, largely due to the ongoing construction of the Ram Temple, a significant religious destination for Hindus.
Whereas Jaipur, Manali, Kashmir, and South Goa, are well-established Indian tourist destinations, with their popularity continuing to grow due to factors like Jaipur’s rich history and vibrant culture, Manali’s adventure sports, Kashmir’s breathtaking natural beauty, and South Goa’s laid-back atmosphere and vibrant nightlife.
