Real or fake? Picture of a ‘young Mother Teresa’ goes viral
Image supposed to be that of a young Mother Teresa goes viral on social media.

Social media is abuzz with what is being purported as the image of Mother Teresa when she was 18. We have not been able to finding out if the image is indeed real, but that has not stopped people from sharing it.

Mother Teresa found the missionaries of charity, a Roman Catholic organisation, in 1950 for the rehabilitation and welfare of lepers and people suffering from other ailments. She was given the Nobel Peace Prize in 1979. She breathed her last on September 5, 1997.
Beatified as “Blessed Teresa of Calcutta” by Pope John Paul II she was later recognised as a saint by the Catholic Church.
Mother Teresa had once said, “By blood, I am Albanian. By citizenship, an Indian. By faith, I am a Catholic nun. As to my calling, I belong to the world. As to my heart, I belong entirely to the Heart of Jesus”.
