A touching photo on the Humans of New York (HONY) Facebook page of a gay teen has gone viral on and attracted a comment from Hillary Clinton herself.
The photo of the boy, who is not named, is accompanied with this statement, “I’m homosexual and I’m afraid about what my future will be and that people won’t like me.”
Hours after the picture was posted, Democrat US presidential candidate Hillary Clinton stepped in with these words of encouragement: “Prediction from a grown-up: Your future is going to be amazing. You will surprise yourself with what you’re capable of and the incredible things you go on to do. Find the people who love and believe in you – there will be lots of them. –H.”
The comment ended with an H, which indicated that Hillary herself had typed in these words. Kristina Schake, Clinton’s deputy communications director, also took a screenshot of the comment and posted it on Twitter and since then, it’s been the buzzword. Check out her tweet below:

Hillary Clinton was not the only one offering the boy words of encouragement. Talk show host Ellen DeGeneres also posted on the comment on the page, saying, “Not only will people like you, they’ll love you. I just heard of you and I love you already.” The comment was posted via the The Ellen DeGeneres Show official page.
Hillary Clinton has already spoken in favour of marriage equality for homosexuals as part of her 2016 campaign. As this New York Times post points out one of the videos in her campaign calls for equality and says that gay rights are human rights.

Interestingly the photo had earlier been removed from Facebook page and Brandon Stanton, the creator behind the page had posted about the same on the site. He had written, “Seems that Facebook removed the young man’s brave statement and is now preventing me from uploading any further photos. I’m hoping it was a mistake. It is currently still on Instagram and I’m trying to figure out how to get it back up.”
The issue was later sorted out and the photo is now on Facebook and given Hillary and Ellen’s backing, that boy is getting a lot of online love and support.
