Louisiana Govenor Bobby Jindal has declared his candidacy for the 2016 Republican presidential nomination. Raised Hindu but a convert to Catholicism as a teenager, Jindal has talked of his religious faith in small churches across Louisiana. Jindal became the first person of Indian-American heritage to run for US president. But he chooses not to identify himself with his Indian roots. Probably because of this, the hashtag #BobbyJindalIsSoWhite is trending on Twitter. Here are the tweets: The Indian equivalent to "Uncle Tom" will now be "Uncle Bobby." #bobbyjindalissowhite — Hari Kondabolu (@harikondabolu) June 25, 2015 #BobbyJindalIsSoWhite he thinks india s a land of snake charmers where people go to work on elephants ( not a bad idea in the monsoons!) — hemant morparia (@hemantmorparia) June 25, 2015 #BobbyJindalIsSoWhite that he's approached to play Snow White in the Disney's sequel of "Snow White and the 7 Dwarfs" — Aladdin (@Alllahdin) June 25, 2015 #BobbyJindalIsSoWhite he thinks cricket is the name of the bugs whose chirping can be heard at his political rallies. #Jindian — Dheeraj Chand (@dheerajchand) June 25, 2015 #BobbyJindalIsSoWhite that he says aah-sum instead of awesome — Atul Khatri (@one_by_two) June 25, 2015 #bobbyjindalissowhite he thinks Holi is a spin off of the color run — jaideep (@deepjayrao) June 25, 2015 #bobbyjindalissowhite he tells all his friends that he's started cooking everything in this new "clarified butter" from whole foods. — Nina Bhattacharya (@onlynina) June 25, 2015 Tanned?
