Murder bid on SFI leader: Kerala college shut

Police said Nazar Abdul Rahman, SFI college unit secretary, on Wednesday night was stabbed by a group of students belonging to the Fraternity Movement, student wing of Welfare Party, floated by Jamaat-e-Islami; and KSU, student wing of Congress.

Maharaja’s College in Ernakulam — a prominent government autonomous college in Kerala — was closed on Thursday, following a murder attempt on a student belonging to the SFI, the student wing of CPI(M), said officials.
