Lenovo became the first PC company to enter the foldable laptop space with the ThinkPad X1 (review). Although it was an ambitious attempt, the device had its own issues. Since then, Lenovo has been refreshing the ThinkPad X1 Fold, and the latest iteration packs a bigger 16.3-inch screen, a more compact design, and also features a carbon fibre finish on the outside with the latest Intel hardware on the inside.

Asus’ Zenbook 17 Fold (review) is claimed to have the largest screen on a foldable laptop, thanks to its 17.3-inch touchscreen OLED screen with 2.5K resolution. When folded, it gets super compact and takes the form factor of a 12.5-inch tablet, making it easy to carry around. This notebook can be used in various modes such as a laptop, desktop, tablet, and even in an extended mode by pairing it with an external PC. The hinge is rated to last for 30,000 folds and unfolds, and it should last for a few years without any issues.

HP Spectre’s lineup of laptops is known for its premium finish, and the company’s first foldable laptop belongs to the Spectre lineup. Just like Asus’s offering, the Spectre Fold also turns into a large PC with a 17.3-inch screen when unfolded. The hinge system also allows users to access this laptop from various angles.
This device can primarily be used in three modes: as a 12.3-inch tablet with an external physical keyboard, as a 17-inch PC, and as a desktop for an external PC. It also has a kickstand, which makes it easy to place the tablet at an angle. HP also claims that it is the thinnest 17-inch laptop on the market, and it also comes with a hefty price tag of $4,999.99.

The latest entrant in this segment is also on the lighter side. Featuring a 17-inch foldable OLED screen, this laptop makes use of a newer 13th Gen Intel Core i5-1335U series processor, which gives this machine an advantage in terms of battery life and power efficiency when compared to its contemporaries.
The laptop supports 65W fast charging via the USB-C port and can also be used as a secondary monitor for a PC. Again, the LG Gram Fold is slightly more affordable than HP’s offering, and the company is currently offering a massive discount for early adopters.
