At the recently concluded Galaxy Unpacked event, Samsung unveiled its latest foldable devices – Galaxy Z Flip 5 and Galaxy Z Fold 5. The newest flip phone from the South Korean tech giant comes with a large 3.4-inch AMOLED screen, which makes the outer display more useful.
While the screen may have a large display with Samsung offering several customisation options, most of the functionality comes from preinstalled widgets like calendar, weather, step counter, recent calls and more. The tech giant also limited app functionality to a handful of apps, which include Google Messages, WhatsApp, Samsung Messages, Google Maps, YouTube and Netflix.
If you can bypass Samsung’s app restriction and run full apps on the cover display, the ‘Multistar’ Good Lock module might come in handy.
To download ‘Multistar’ on your phone, download ‘Good Lock’ from the Galaxy Store. Now, open the app and search for ‘Multistar’ in the app. It can be found under the ‘Life Up’ tab.
Now, open Multistar and tap on the ‘I Love Galaxy Foldable’ button and turn on ‘Launcher Widget’. Doing so will quietly place a Good Luck widget on the outer window.
Now, choose the apps you want to access from the cover screen and you are done. One thing to note here is that not all apps will work properly when accessed from a smaller screen and some like Google Wallet have been explicitly blocked by Samsung.
