India’s smart wearables market is booming, thanks to the irresistible bargains offered by Chinese brands. One of them is Realme, a BBK Electronics sub-brand known for its ‘flagship killer’ phones. BBK offshoots typically deliver top-notch wearables that punch above their price range and have, over the years, built up a reputation where you can get these devices without a thought. The latest example is the Realme Buds T300, and I put them through their paces to see if they’re just as value-for-money as the brand’s other offerings.
The Realme Buds T300 are the spitting image of the AirPods Pro 2, except for a few minor tweaks. The cases are practically identical in size and shape, and the white colour of the earbuds I received only accentuates the resemblance. The similarity carries over inside as well, with the most noticeable difference being that the earbuds are slightly less curvy than the AirPods. I like what Realme did with the inside of the case, though, adding a splash of colour to the otherwise stark ‘Youth White’ design.
White is a classic choice for earbuds, as it gives them a more sophisticated look than black. But colour aside, the Realme Buds T300 are a solid pair of earbuds that punch above their weight in terms of quality and durability. The case feels sturdy and snaps shut with a click that reassures you the hinge will last for years to come.
Despite the promise of 8 hours of case-less music playback, the Buds T300 turned out to be pleasantly light and are easy to forget about once inserted into the ears. They fit me like a glove (a rare phenomenon for me), and I’m sure they would fit you too.
Audio quality-wise, the Realme Buds T300 do sound lively, although they seem to be tuned to favour treble over bass on default settings. I found that config to be a little shrill, but thankfully the earbuds do allow switching sound modes through the Realme Link app. There are four options: Serenade, Original sound, Pure Bass, and Deep Bass. I chose Pure Bass because I like to feel the beat, but you can pick whatever suits your mood and music.
The earbuds also have some impressive features that enhance the audio quality, such as 12.4mm drivers, 30dB ANC, and Spatial Audio Effect. The 30dB ANC is not as strong as some of the more expensive earbuds out there – like the Realme Buds Air 5 Pro’s 50dB – but it still does a great job of blocking out the annoying noises around you.
The battery life is another plus point of these earbuds. They claim to last for 40 hours, which is enough for me to use them for a whole week. Of course, your mileage may vary depending on how much you use them and what settings you choose.
But of course, the best part about these earbuds is their price tag. They cost only Rs 2,299, which is a bargain for what’s on offer – premium design, ANC, and crisp sound quality that will make you happy. If you’re looking for earbuds in this price range, don’t think twice and just get the Realme Buds T300.
