Yahoo has rolled out an upgraded messenger app for Mac and Windows, allowing for a fast and easy way to share photos and GIFs along with the regular messages. The updated version of the app has been introduced after its successful launch in December last year, Yahoo said in a statement on Friday.

The drag and drop feature will let users share multiple photos at once. Yahoo messenger will also let you like any image or post from your friends. The updated messenger will also give desktop notifications that will help mutitasking users not miss any message on chat.

Possibly the most exciting feature of the new Yahoo Messenger is the option to “unsend” something. If you have sent a message, GIF or photo that you shouldn’t have – you just need to press unsend to take back the message.

Mac and Windows users of the Messenger will have to upgrade their app by August 5 as the legacy Yahoo Messenger app will no longer function past that date.

Yahoo’s core operating business was recently sold off to Verizon for $4.8 billion, a sad outcome for the former Internet giant that was as big (if not bigger) than Google or Facebook in its time. Yahoo was founded in 1994 by Jerry Yang and David Filo as a site that worked as a directory for other websites. Nearly one billion users a month are still using services provided by Yahoo.
