After a few years where all iPhones had the same processor, Apple is now distinguishing its regular iPhones and Pro models with different processors. (Express photo by Nandagopal Rajan) Apple recently held its Wonderlust event in Cupertino and even before any announcements were made, the world knew a September event meant new iPhones were coming. And so they did. Apple launched the new iPhone 15 lineup consisting of the iPhone 15, the iPhone 15 Plus, the iPhone 15 Pro and the iPhone 15 Pro Max. While the new phones are significant upgrades on their predecessors, the iPhones have never been easy on the pocket and this has not changed with the new iPhone series either. The base iPhone, the iPhone 15, comes with a starting price of Rs. 79,900 with the variants only climbing up the price ladder.
This means investing in a new iPhone is not for the faint hearted or for the faint pocketed ones. But while the new iPhones may come with premium pricing, accessories for them do not necessarily have to break your bank too. Yes, usually even accessories for an iPhone can be quite costly, but we have curated a list of six iPhone add ons that you can get for your new iPhone under a thousand rupees:
DailyObjects HybridClear MagSafe Phone Case Cover: A case with MagSafe compatibility
Rs 1099

Apple has its own version of wireless charging called MagSafe that lets a phone be charged through a magnetic attachment on its back. While all new iPhones come with MagSafe support, all iPhones cases do not support this feature, which makes it difficult to charge an iPhone using a MagSafe charger. The official Apple case with Magsafe support is, in best Apple tradition, quite a strain on one’s pocket. If you are on a relatively tight budget, you can also opt for DailyObjects HybridClear MagSafe phone cover.
This case comes with support for Apple’s MagSafe charging and is quite sturdy as well. It is a clear case (so your iPhone’s shade can be seen) with a marking for MagSafe charging support. It is quite basic in terms of looks but comes from DailyObjects and is quite budget-friendly, all while offering good protection to your iPhone. It is very slightly over a thousand Rupees, and you can get its MagSafe-less version for under a thousand, but we advise going for this one. You might even snag it for a lower price with some deals and discounts.
Stuffcool Flow PD20W charger: No adapter in the box? No problem, Stuff(cool) that!
Rs 799

The iPhone 15 series has many superb features, but what it does not have is a charging brick in the box. Citing environmental concerns, Apple announced that the brand will not be shipping its iPhones with wall adapters since iPhone 12. This may not be an issue for those who have wall adapters from their previous iPhones but for those who are new to the world of iPhones, this can prove to be a particularly expensive subtraction. If you wish to buy an adapter for your new iPhone from a reliable brand without spending a bomb, you can pick the Stuffcool Flow PD20W charger.
Earlier priced at Rs. 1,599, the adapter is now available at a discounted price of Rs. 799. It can push up to 20 W charge which is perfect for the new iPhones because they come with 20W charging support. It comes with safety measures, is compact and has a USB Type C port, so will work perfectly with the Type C to Type C cable in the iPhone box.
Ugreen USB-C to 3.5 mm audio adapter: Charge and plug in headphone at the same time
Rs 999
The Ugreen USB-C to 3.5 mm audio adapter is generally available from online retailers like Amazon and Flipkart for a price in the region of Rs 1,000 (Express Photo)
Ever since Apple bid farewell to the 3.5 mm audio jack, users have been forced to choose between charging their iPhone or plugging in an adapter to connect their earphones (yes, some people still prefer wired earphones over wireless ones). A handy solution to this problem comes in the form of Ugreen USB-C to 3.5 mm audio and USB Type C adapter (review). The product has existed in the market for quite some time but was not of any use for iPhone lovers until the iPhone 15.
With the iPhone 15 Apple switched to a USB Type C port which allows users to get this adapter and forget about choosing between their charger or earphones. Just plug them both at once. It is quite compact and can easily fit into your trouser pockets as well. Audio quality incidentally is excellent as there is a DAC in the adapter as well.
Apple USB Type C to 3.5 mm headphone jack adapter: For the wired headphone crowd
Rs 900
The adapter is a very small accessory that has a 3.5 mm audio jack at one end (Express Photo)
If you are only in the market for a 3.55 mm audio jack adapter to be able to use your beloved wired headphones, you can buy the official one from Apple (review). It is perhaps the most affordable accessory that Apple creates and in all honesty, it is actually quite handy for those who love their wired headphones.
It is a small enough wire with a USB Type C port on one end and a 3.5 mm audio jack on the other end. All you have to do is plug in the adapter in your iPhone and then connect your headphones and you are good to go. This is a very good quality adapter too and comes with an in-built DAC, which can handle even headphones with relatively high impedance.
Spigen Essential Wireless Charger: Wireless and hassle-free
Rs 949

Another steal of a deal for new iPhone owners is the Spigen Essential Wireless Charger. It is much more affordable than Apple’s official wireless MagSafe charger and works quite well too. This product comes with a charging pad and a cable. You can choose between a USB Type A to USB Type C cable or a USB Type C to a USB Type C cable.
It comes with a maximum charging speed of 15 W but can charge an iPhone at 7.5 W max. Apart from iPhones, this charger can also be used to charge other smartphones like OnePlus and Samsung devices that support wireless charging. The charger also comes with heat protection technology that keeps it from overheating and can even be used to charge TWS that come with wireless charging support. It is solidly built and safe to use.
SanDisk Ultra Dual Drive: Add storage without spending a bomb
Rs 930 (128 GB), Rs 700 (64 GB)
SanDisk Ultra Dual Drive Luxe review
From the very beginning, Apple refused to get on board with the whole microSD card idea. Thanks to this, iPhone users have had to shell out extra to get extra storage on their phone. Cloud storage is an option but nothing quite beats having storage on the phone itself. If you also wish to add more storage to your iPhone safely and without busting the bank, you can get the SanDisk Ultra Dual Drive (review).
This is basically a small pendrive but with a USB Type C port which makes it easier to connect with phones and now that the iPhone also comes with a USB Type C port, you add storage to your iPhone with it as well. You can get as much as 128 GB storage for less than a thousand Rupees. Using it is as simple as plugging it into your iPhone. You can then transfer files to and from it easily. Of course, it is reliable – it comes from SanDisk!
