Samsung Galaxy S22 is now available at a discounted price of Rs 36,999 on Flipkart, making it one of the most affordable S series Samsung flagships one can buy, and it is currently cheaper than the Galaxy S23 FE.
The base variant of the Galaxy S22 (review) with 8 GB RAM and 128 GB of internal storage is available for an all-time low price of Rs 36,999 on Flipkart. Users can exchange their old smartphones to get additional discounts on the Galaxy S22, powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC. Some users on X posted they were able to order the Galaxy S22 for as low as Rs 20,999. We were not able to verify such claims.
Samsung launched the Galaxy S22 series of smartphones in 2022, and the Galaxy S22 was dubbed as a compact flagship with a 6.1-inch 120Hz display. It was priced at Rs 72,999. Over the last few months, the device received heavy discounts, and is currently retailing at its all-time low price with over 50 per cent discount on its original price.
The Galaxy S22 has everything one expects from an Android flagship, including an IP68 rating for water and dust resistance, wireless charging and a 120Hz display. The device also comes with a premium glass-metal construction. It has a proper triple camera setup with a dedicated ultra-wide and a telephoto lens each, and can shoot 4K videos using the front camera.
Add to it the fact that the Galaxy S22 is currently running on the latest Android 14-based OneUI 6 OS. The device is eligible for two more major Android OS upgrades and is also confirmed to receive some of the Galaxy AI features in the coming days via a software update.
If you are looking for a compact Android flagship smartphone that doesn’t necessarily have cutting-edge hardware and is affordable, getting the Galaxy S22 makes a lot of sense, considering the device is eligible for two more years of software updates and three more years of security updates.
Galaxy S22, in terms of software and hardware, is not that different from either the Galaxy S23 or even the Galaxy S24 series of smartphones for most users. However, if you are a heavy user or a gamer, then you can buy devices like the iQOO Neo 9 Pro or the OnePlus 11R, which come with even more powerful hardware at a slightly lower price.
