The quintessential television set has metamorphosed over the years, both in form, features, and content. Indian consumers have been more than willing to adapt to the transformation. Today, more than ever, smart TVs are among the most sold products across the country. But what does the consumer look for when picking the right TV for themselves?
Is it the size, the screen quality, or the gamut of entertainment options that come with it? Perhaps it’s about striking the perfect balance between all these facets. Redmi recently unveiled its Redmi Smart Fire TV 4K 108cm television. And, I had the privilege of experiencing the all-new television from the Chinese consumer technology company. Here’s what I felt after using it for two weeks.
To be honest, simply saying that I am impressed would be a gross understatement. This is a TV that is economical, ergonomic, and thoughtfully designed.
The TV was delivered by Redmi professionals to my doorstep, who also helped me get it installed. And, all this they did with great care, without causing the slightest disturbance to the carefully built habitat – my bedroom. My initial apprehensions about the size and weight vanished the moment the TV was installed. The first thing I noticed on the TV was its sleek and modern design, something that makes it blend effortlessly with any type of décor. I also felt that the slim bezels made sure that my attention did not drift away from the display while viewing.

When it comes to the 4K Ultra HD display, I found it to be dazzling. To test the visual capabilities of the TV, I watched a host of 4K videos on YouTube and streamed movies on OTT. The sharp, lucid images prompted me to rewatch the extended version of ‘The Lord of The Rings’ trilogy. The characters, the majestic landscape, and the dreamy sequences in the classic felt up and close. With HDR support, the true-to-life images are bound to impress many. From nature documentaries to epic fantasies, this Redmi TV offers a spectacular visual experience.
Sound output
The Redmi Smart Fire TV 4K comes with 24W speakers. The audio quality is fine and complements the visual output. I also tried external Bluetooth speakers (Echo Studio) along with the TV. In my experience, I feel the stock speakers on the unit are good enough for a spacious drawing room. This would be good news for many consumers as they may not be required to shell out extra on a soundbar.
With features such as Dolby Audio, DTS: Virtual X, and DTS HD, one’s space is bound to transform into a mini-theatre. I found the sound to be immersive and deep, especially the dialogues were crisp and added an element of thrill to action sequences.

The standout feature
This TV comes with a built-in Amazon Fire TV, entirely eliminating the need for an additional streaming device. However, if you have one already, you can plug it into one of the HDMI ports and use it. With the in-built Fire TV, the TV has access to over 12,000 apps and a vast library of entertainment options. The device comes with a 2GB RAM and 8GB ROM. The interface is simple and user-friendly, and I have not experienced any lag or stutter.
Verdict:
The Redmi Smart Fire TV 4K 108CM at Rs 24,999 is a great value-for-money television. With Fire TV in-built, this is not just a television but a comprehensive entertainment device. I personally feel that it could be a great investment for movie buffs or those who like to binge-watch web series and documentaries.
