Xiaomi will soon add another phone to its budget lineup – Redmi 12C. Powered by the MediaTek Helio G85 chipset, the phone will be available for purchase on Amazon from March 30 and is most likely cost less than Rs 10,000 as per Amazon India’s listing.

Powered by the MediaTek Helio G85 chipset, Redmi 12C sports a 6.7-inch HD+ LCD display and has a textured back panel that makes it easy to hold. On the back, you get a 50MP primary sensor with support for 4-in-1 pixel binning backed by a QVGA depth sensor.

Xiaomi has also enabled support for HDR and Night mode. The camera island also happens to house the fingerprint scanner. The front of the phone has a teardrop notch that houses a 5MP selfie shooter.

It will offer up to 6GB RAM but there is still no word on the storage options available. According to the Redmi 12C page on Xiaomi’s website, the phone comes with up to 128GB of internal storage. Nonetheless, users will be able to expand the storage space using the microSD card slot that supports cards up to 1TB.

Running on MIUI 13 based on Android 12 out of the box, Redmi 12C is backed by a 5,000mAh battery and might support 10W charging. It will be available in four colours – grey, blue, green and purple and will compete with the likes of Infinix Note 12i, Motorola G13 and others.
