OnePlus 15R: Everything we know about the device with Snapdragon 8 Elite and AMOLED display

OnePlus has announced that it will release the OnePlus 15R in India shortly after launching the OnePlus 15. It has also been reported that the forthcoming phone would come with the OxygenOS 16 update, which powers Android 16.

The alert slider on the OnePlus 15R will be replaced by the Plus Key, a multipurpose key that can be pressed to change volume profiles, take images, start recording, and, most importantly, capture memories with Plus Mind. Although the OnePlus 13R’s cameras lacked Hasselblad branding, it is unclear whether OnePlus will employ its new DetailMax Engine on the 15R.

OnePlus 15R expected specifications

Although OnePlus introduced the OnePlus Ace 6 in China a few weeks ago, which is likely to be renamed the OnePlus 15R, the company has not yet formally announced the specifications for the OnePlus 15R in India. The 6.83-inch 1.5K LTPS AMOLED display on the Ace 6 has a refresh rate of 165 Hz. Like the OnePlus 15, it also has IP66, IP68, IP69, and IP69K water and dust resistance.

As for the processor, the device may feature a Snapdragon 8 Elite chip, and the Ace 6 comes equipped with a 50MP primary camera featuring OIS, along with an 8MP ultra-wide lens. On the front, it includes a 16MP camera for selfies and video calls. Notably, if these specs are followed for the OnePlus 15R, the upcoming phone could have a downgraded camera setup compared to its predecessor, which also featured a telephoto lens.

The phone features a 7,800mAh battery and supports 120W wired fast charging. OnePlus has refrained from providing wireless charging support on the R lineup so far, and this trend is likely to continue with this year’s device as well. It’s unclear if the Competitive Black, Flash White, and Quicksilver colour options available for the Ace 6 will also be available for the 15R.

OnePlus 15R expected price

The price of the OnePlus Ace 6 in China starts at 2,599 yuan (approximately Rs 32,000) for the base variant, a 300 yuan increase from its predecessor. With OnePlus already increasing the price of its flagship, the 15R could also see a price hike and may start at around Rs 45,000, instead of the Rs 42,999 price of its predecessor.
