Considering the product naming strategy, these should have been called Nothing Ear (3); however, the company recently confirmed that it is re-strategising the naming scheme of the upcoming products. Hence, despite being a successor to the Ear (2) (review), it will be simply called Nothing Ear, while the Ear (a) will be an affordable version of the same.

According to leaks, the design of the Nothing Ear will be almost similar to the Nothing Ear (2), featuring a translucent case and semi-transparent earbuds. This time around, the Ear will come in two colour options: regular black and white. The more affordable Ear (a) will come in a Play date inspired yellow colour, which looks unique and refreshing along with regular black and white options. On the stem of these earbuds, the company has also mentioned the name of the product, and with the different colour options, it will be easy to distinguish between the two models.
Looking at the renders, the case of the Nothing Ear (a) appears slightly different from that of the Nothing Ear (2), with a rectangular form factor, while the Nothing Ear’s case looks almost identical.
Nothing Ear will offer features such as 7.5 hours of playback time with ANC disabled, 33 hours of battery life with the case, and 10 hours of usage time with just 10 minutes of charging. The Nothing Ear (a), despite being a more affordable option, is said to offer up to 8 hours of playback time and up to 38 hours of playback time with the case. The Nothing Ear is most likely to support wireless charging, and we might not see such capability on the Ear (a), with both featuring a USB-C port.
As per leaks, the Nothing Ear will cost €150 and could be priced around Rs 10,000 in India, while the Nothing Ear (a) will carry a price tag of around €100 or around Rs 6,000. Both earbuds will be unveiled on April 18, and these devices are expected to be available exclusively on Flipkart and other partner retail stores.
