Airtel, Jio, and Vodafone Idea (Vi), in a span of a couple of hours, have announced tariff hikes for both prepaid and postpaid plans. The new plans are up to 25 per cent more expensive and will come into effect soon. Just like the earlier plans, all three telcos are offering different bundles, meant for different users, which include monthly, quarterly, and annual recharge plans.

With most plans, operators offer unlimited calling with the data cap being the major differentiator. Here are the most affordable value prepaid plans from Airtel, Jio, and Vi.

Jio Rs 199 prepaid plan

Jio’s most affordable monthly recharge plan costs Rs 199 with 28 days of validity, which is a steep increase from Rs 155. This plan offers unlimited calling, 300 SMS, and 2 GB of 4G data for the entire period. This plan is best suited for those who have a high-speed broadband connection and don’t use much mobile data.

Airtel Rs 199 prepaid plan

Airtel has increased the price of its most affordable monthly prepaid plan from Rs 179 to Rs 199. Again, the benefits remain similar, with unlimited calling, 2 GB of 4G data for the whole period, with greater SMS benefits of 100 per day. This plan is great for those who want to use the SIM card for just calls and messaging.

Vi Rs 199 prepaid plan

Vi’s most affordable monthly recharge plan also costs Rs 199, and the benefits are identical to Jio’s, with 2 GB of data for 28 days, unlimited calling, and 300 messages.

Telecom Provider Plan Cost (Rs) Validity (Days) Data (GB) Calling SMS Effective Date
Jio 199 28 2 Unlimited 300 July 3
Airtel 199 28 2 Unlimited 100/day July 3
Vi 199 28 2 Unlimited 300 July 4

On any of these networks, a user has to spend at least Rs 199 to keep their phone number active to receive and make calls. Earlier, one could have recharged for either Rs 155 (Jio) or Rs 179 (Airtel) for identical benefits. For Airtel and Jio users, these new plans will come into effect from July 3, while the same will be applicable for Vi users starting July 4.
