Microsoft’s take on Cortana has been little different from Apple and Google. It calls its digital assistant one that is truly personal and it is right to some extent. Rather than having the digital assistant learn about you, Cortana comes with a notebook where users can add their personal choices that turns Cortana into a truly personal digital assistant.

In a first, Microsoft is now integrating Cortana with LinkedIn, the world’s largest professional network. While Microsoft has offered APIs to help developers integrate their services with Cortana, this would be the first to bear fruit.

Cortana users can connect their LinkedIn account by simply tapping on connected accounts. Once connected, Cortana can show LinkedIn information while reminding about calendar appointments. The feature has started rolling out and this could be the first in a series of third-party integrations to follow.
