Meta has released a major update to its latest social media platform, Threads, just two weeks after its official launch. Cameron Roth, an iOS app engineer for Instagram, has shared via a Threads post regarding all the new features and capabilities of the updated Threads app, which includes a follow tab, translations, and more.
According to Cameron’s post, the updated Threads app on iOS now supports live translation and has a new follow tab in the activity feed. Similarly, the updated app also offers the option to subscribe to unfollowed users, activity feed scrolling, tappable reposter labels, and the ability to open the IG followers list. Additionally, it fixes a few bugs to further enhance the user experience.
iPhone users can now install Threads version 292.0, and the update is around 163 MB in size. The update comes just a day after CEO Mark Zuckerberg’s Threads post, indicating optimism about the platform and how the company is currently working on making it more stable and retaining the user base.
Meta witnessed over 100 million sign-ups in just a few days, making it one of the most successful social media platform launches in recent times. However, there has been a sharp decline in traffic, indicating the platform is losing its charm just a few weeks after the official launch.
