HTC Vive Studios launched to help develop VR content

HTC has announced the launch of Vive Studios for the development of company’s virtual reality content. “Vive Studios will bring to market VR content created by HTC’s internal studios as well as through publishing partnerships with external developers,” said Vive Studios in a statement. Vive Studios will create content across several VR categories such as games, education, cinematic, design, social, real-estate and sports.

HTC Vive Studios also released its first title called ‘Arcade Saga’. Arcade Saga is a VR game developed by internal studio 2 Bears Studios. 2 Bears Studios has partnered with Vive Studios to develop VR experiences for HTC Vive. Arcade Saga is available on Steam for $29.99 (Rs 2,000 approx). Arcade Saga features three difficulty modes and more than 84 levels.

“We’re excited to formally unveil Vive Studios as a new pillar in HTC’s initiative to drive persistent growth for VR,” said Joel Breton, VP of content at HTC Vive, in a press statement. “Vive Studios’ aim is to nurture and discover development talent and help create content that will continually push the boundaries of the kinds of experiences VR can deliver,” he added.

HTC Vive Virtual Reality (VR) system was launched last year at a starting price of $799. HTC Vive uses Valve’s Steam VR tracking and input technologies for its VR experience. It has full room scale 360 degree solution with tracked controllers that will let users walk around and explore virtual space and inspect objects from all angles. The headset features high quality graphics, 90 frames per second video and high audio fidelity.
