Thanks to Google Pay, you no longer need a separate app to split bills with friends or colleagues. GPay now offers a built-in bill-splitting feature, making it easier and more intuitive to request, collect, or pay your share seamlessly within the app. Until recently, this required an additional app and a subscription.
Here is a detailed guide on how to set up and use the bill-splitting feature on GPay via an Android or iOS device:
1.) Open the GPay app on your Android or iOS device and click on the search bar located at the top of the home screen.
2.) In the next window, select the New Group option.
3.) Add all the friends or colleagues you want to split the bill with and assign a name to the group.
GPay currently supports multiple bill-splitting groups with the option to split the bill equally, by percentage, by a specific amount, or by share. This makes the bill-splitting process more flexible, especially when different people need to contribute different amounts.
Once you’ve decided how to split the bill, you can send a request. GPay will automatically notify everyone in the group with a payment request, which they can pay directly within the app. Once a payment is completed, it will be marked accordingly, making it easy to track all outstanding payments.
