ChatGPT developers are reportedly working on a new feature called "Context Connector" which will let users feed files to the AI chatbot directly from cloud services like Google Drive and OneDrive.

ChatGPT, one of the most popular AI chatbots worldwide keeps getting better and better, thanks to developers at OpenAI constantly adding new features. Last year, ChatGPT added a new functionality that allows users to upload and analyse multiple files, generate insights and provide summaries.

Now, a post by an account which goes by the handle @legit_rumors on X suggests that OpenAI is working on a new feature called “Context Connector” that enables ChatGPT to analyse files stored on cloud services like Google Drive and OneDrive.

As of now, if you want ChatGPT to analyse files from these services, you have to download them to your system and manually feed them to the chatbot. However, the upcoming functionality might simplify the entire process and help users save time.

Going by the post shared by the user, it looks like ChatGPT will also offer the option to manage the status of connected services in the app setting. The code also suggests that OpenAI may be working on integration Notion, but it looks like the feature is incomplete right now.

As can be seen in the video above, when users press the file attachment icon on the left of the text field, ChatGPT shows an “Add from Google Drive” button, clicking on which shows all your files from Google’s cloud storage platform. Similar to the file analyse feature, you can ask the ChatGPT to summarise the entire document, make bullets and perform other actions.

However, it looks like Context Connector is currently under development and there is no word if and when the feature will be available to everyone. Moreover, it remains to be seen if OpenAI will make it available to all or limit it to ChatGPT Plus subscribers.
