Apple’s subsidiary Beats introduced two new pairs of wireless headphones on Tuesday – Solo 4, an on-ear headphone and Solo Buds, TWS earbuds. The Beats Solo 4 are priced at $199.99 in the US, and the Solo Buds carry a price tag of $79.99 in the US, making them the first pair of wireless earbuds from Apple priced well under $100.

The Solo Buds will go on sale on May 2, while the Beats Solo 4 will be available for purchase in select markets in June. Just like previous offerings from Beats, these wireless earphones won’t come to India.

The Beats Solo 4, a mid-tier on-ear headphone, can transmit audio via USB-C (Loss Less) and the 3.5mm headphone jack. On a single charge, the headphones can deliver up to 50 hours of battery life. With their passive tuning, users can simply plug a 3.5mm aux cable into the headphones and use them even if the battery runs out. They are compatible with Android and iOS devices and support one-touch pairing.

These headphones do not have active noise cancellation (ANC) support. However, thanks to their design featuring UltraPlush cushions, they can passively block external noise. They are available in Matte Black, Slate Blue and Cloud Pink colour options, and are as portable as the Solo 3. They also deliver features like personalised spatial audio with 3D head tracking.

The Beats Solo Buds, according to the company, deliver “big Beats sound in the smallest case we’ve ever made”. Just like the Solo 4, these also miss out on ANC, and are compatible with Android and iOS devices. They can last up to 18 hours per charge (including the case), and a quick five minutes of charge time can deliver an hour of playback. Every pair of Solo Buds ships with four pairs of different-sized ear tips (XS, S, M & L) to offer a secure fit. The earbuds also support various touch gestures to control music, volume, and answer calls.

Besides the regular black, grey, and purple colour options, the Solo Buds also come in a translucent design just like the Beats Studio Buds Plus that features a snazzy red finish. These earbuds are also fully compatible with Android and iOS devices.
