Apple’s upcoming Watch Series 10 will feature a major design overhaul, including a thinner body, a larger display, and a new strap mechanism enabled by 3D printing, according to analyst Ming-Chi Kuo’s Medium blog post.

The Series 10 is likely to come in 45mm and 49mm sizes, significantly larger than the current 41mm and 45mm Watch Series 9 models. Apple is also expected to debut the third-generation Apple Watch Ultra, similar to the Ultra 2.

The new watch strap will have a magnetic mechanism, making it easier to replace, though previous straps might not be compatible. Apple will use 3D printing technology to produce some components starting in the second half of 2024, with Bright Laser Technologies (BLT) handling the manufacturing.

In the coming days, the same technology will also be used to manufacture Apple Watch cases. It is said to reduce the number of components and also decrease the complexity of assembling a watch.

Apple first tested 3D printing with the Watch Series 9 to reduce components and manufacturing costs. Compared to last year, BLT is said to have improved 3D printing efficiency, making it a great choice to produce the next-generation Apple Watches.

The Watch Series 10 is expected to launch alongside the iPhone 16 series in September, possibly with a higher price compared to earlier models.
