Apple recently announced that its Podcasts service can now be accessed from popular web browsers. Available in over 170 countries, Apple Podcasts users can enjoy the audio service on Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Mozilla Firefox and Apple Safari
While the ability to listen to podcasts has been available for a while now, users had to look up a show on the search engine and then head over to the Apple Podcasts Preview page. You can access it by heading over to “podcasts.apple.com”.
The Cupertino based tech giant also introduced a new interface that brings several app exclusive features like browsing through shows, purchasing podcasts subscriptions and access to Library and Top Charts. Previously, the web experience was limited to macOS users.
As one would expect, the web version of Apple Podcasts also syncs with Apple ID, allowing users to continue listening to queued episodes and resume from another device. Another thing to note here is that users do not need to sign-in to use the service, but then Apple Podcasts won’t sync across your devices.
Also, it looks like the Automated Transcripts feature, which Apple introduced with iOS 17.4 earlier this year in March is missing from the Mac and the web version of the service. Some features like speed adjustment and the ability to scroll through chapters are also unavailable at the moment.
Last month, the company rolled out the web version of Apple Maps. The service is accessible from Safari and Chrome on Mac and iPad while Windows users are limited to Chrome and Edge.
