At its Let Loose event, Apple introduced new iPad Air and iPad Pro models along with the new Apple Pencil Pro, the company’s first Pro-branded pencil, compatible with the M2 iPad Air and M4 iPad Pro models. Priced at Rs 11,900, the new Apple Pencil Pro offers new squeeze gestures, and it also has dedicated hardware for haptic feedback and the Pencil Pro will be available for pre-order starting today.
Apple refers to the Pencil as “the beloved accessory” and acknowledges its transformative impact on many users. With the Pencil Pro, the company claims to elevate the pencil experience to a whole new level with support for double-tap gestures. The new features introduced on the Apple Pencil Pro are on par with the stylus that accompanies a dedicated writing or sketching tablet, and it encompasses everything that the Apple Pencil 2 offers.
The Apple Pencil Pro is aimed at those inclined towards creating digital art rather than solely taking notes. It packs a new sensor in the barrel, enabling new interactions such as precise control of the tool, and the Pencil Pro is also compatible with the Find My network. While it lacks a USB-C port like the recently unveiled entry-level model, it can magnetically attach to an iPad Air or iPad Pro and can charge wirelessly. When the Pencil Pro is tilted, it adjusts the orientation of the brush while drawing, and users can also hover the pen above the screen to get a preview of the tool or the brush.
