2024 is said to be a big year for iPads. According to analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, Apple will announce the refreshed iPad Mini, regular iPad, iPad Air, and iPad Pro models early next year. Besides standard models, Apple is also expected to launch a large iPad Air with a 12.9-inch screen along with the iPad Pro lineup, featuring an OLED screen for the first time on an iPad. Kuo also predicts that Apple might ship around 52-54 million units of iPads next year, which is a lot less than 2022's 63 million unit shipment. Apple will not be dropping all the new iPads at once. The iPad Air is reported to launch as early as Q1 2024, and it is said to be available in two sizes - 11-inch and also with a bigger 12.9-inch screen, similar to the current large-screen iPad Pro, both featuring an LCD screen and a better chip for enhanced performance. Cupertino is reported to announce the new iPad Pro lineup, featuring a cutting-edge OLED screen and a powerful M3 processor in the second quarter of 2024. With the new display technology, the iPad Pros are expected to offer better colour reproduction and enhanced power efficiency, leading to improved battery life compared to their predecessors. With the new hardware and a major redesign, the upcoming iPad Pros might cost a bit more than their predecessors. In the second half of 2024, Apple is expected to announce the 11th-gen iPad along with a new iPad Mini. Reports also suggest that, with the launch of the new baseline iPad, the company might discontinue the 9th Gen iPad, completing the transition from the Lightning port to USB-C within the iPad lineup.
