Software giant Adobe has introduced a new way for creative collaborations. The US-based company has introduced Live Co-Editing for Photoshop. This feature has been designed to make creative collaboration more seamless. Live Co-Editing is currently available for private beta testing on both Photoshop desktop (beta) and web apps.

With the new feature, several creators can access and edit documents from different computers at the same time. This, according to Adobe, can unlock shared creativity and collaboration. Besides, the new feature accelerates content creation, streamlines communication, and improves creative collaboration, ideal for creators, teams, and educators.

How does the feature help creators?

According to Adobe, now multiple designers can work on a Photoshop document, dividing tasks to tackle and accomplishing projects more efficiently by collaborating. At large enterprises, creative teams can collaborate on highly matrixed projects, solicit stakeholder input, and address feedback all in a single file.

Moreover, creators can gather client feedback more intuitively by inviting them to directly collaborate on a file that they can edit and make comments on. For students, the new features let them follow live as teachers demonstrate workflows and teach techniques in Photoshop. Teachers can make comments and edits directly in a student’s document to enhance the learning experience.

More innovations

Last year, Photoshop introduced some community-driven innovations enhancing adjustments, compositing, selection, and typography workflows. These upgrades streamlined the process and improved efficiency. Among the notable additions, the Remove Tool and Distraction Removal simplify editing by automatically detecting and removing unwanted elements while retaining the depth and detail. On the other hand, the Selection Brush lets users do precise area adjustments with customisable opacity and feathering for nuanced effects.

Also, the Adobe Firefly Image Model with generative AI improves features such as Generative Fill and Expand as they offer an enhanced photographic quality. With the improved Font Browser, users have access to over 25,000 fonts that are searchable by name or aesthetic. The Adjustment Brush Tool allows for precise, on-image changes to brightness, saturation, and exposure, while Custom Adjustment Presets provide one-click edits and sharable presets.
