
Netflix went down on Saturday night for a number of users in the US, New Zealand, Canada, Costa Rica, Chile, and Switzerland. Reports claim the popular streaming site went down sometime before 9:30 p.m. ET but it was back online within an hour. According to The Wrap, users in the US with Apple TV did not report outages; but those logging in from on the web faced issues. They were greeted with a message, “Netflix Site Error. We are unable to process your request. Please go to the Netflix home page by clicking the button below.” Downdetector.com confirmed Netflix is having issues. “Netflix is having issues since 6:29 PM EDT. Are you also affected? Leave a message in the comments,” the site says. According to the site, 40 per cent users faced issues while video streaming, 23 per cent while logging in and 36 per cent reported problems of no connection.
Netflix tweeted from its official Twitter support page saying the company is working to solve the issues. “We are aware that some customers are seeing errors when visiting Netflix’s website and we are working to solve this as quickly as possible,” it tweeted. Meanwhile, users across the world took to Twitter to share their problems with Netflix. US footballer Alex Morgan tweeted, “Netflix is down??? My #strangerthings obsession is real and this outage just confirmed it. Pleaaaaaase fix this in begging.”
