Apple iPad Pro comes with a new accessory called Apple Pencil, which is the company’s take on the stylus. The iPad Pro is 12.9-inch screen device aimed at enterprise users and Apple Pencil will help these users take advantage of the new giant screen.

Except that the Apple Pencil is getting trolled on Twitter, with many pointing out how Apple co-founder, the late Steve Jobs dissed the idea of a stylus when the iPhone was first launched.

Steve Jobs had famously said in 2007, “Who wants a stylus? You have to get them, put them away. You lose them. Yuck.” Naturally now that Apple launched its own Apple Pencil, which many see as glorified stylus, the jokes have started.

As this piece on The Verge points out, “Styluses prior to the adoption of capacitive touch were meant to make up for the rudimentary capabilities of resistive touchscreens,” a fact that stands dramatically changed.

Plus the iPad Pro is geared towards graphic designers, artists, etc; the people who want to create something with the big screen, and given the size, this is not a tablet that everyone will pick up.  The 12.9-inch screen is also what makes it perfect for people who might want to sketch on the device.

Apple doesn’t think that its new Pencil is a Stylus and while some might say it is playing catch-up with Samsung, it remains to be seen what response the iPad Pro and its new Pencil get.
