OnePlus 15 launched in India with Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5: Specs, price and availability

OnePlus, on Thursday, November 13, officially unveiled its latest flagship smartphone, the OnePlus 15, setting a new benchmark for power and design. The new generation OnePlus 15 debuts the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, making it the first phone in India to feature the powerful processor. 

The OnePlus starts at Rs 72,999 and will be available in 12GB+256GB and 16GB+512GB variants across OnePlus.in, Amazon, and offline retail partners. 

The Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset is part of OnePlus’s triple-chip architecture that includes a dedicated touch-response chip (with 3200 Hz instant touch sampling) and an independent Wi-Fi chip for stronger connectivity.

In order to manage heat during intensive gaming or multitasking, the new device employs a 360 Cryo-Velocity Cooling System with aerogel insulation and white graphite materials.

Vibrant display and massive battery

The device features a 1.5K 165 Hz LTPO display with 1800 nits peak brightness, TÜV Rheinland Intelligent Eye Care 5.0 certification, and an adaptive refresh rate for better power efficiency.

The phone is powered by a 7300mAh Silicon NanoStack Battery, making it OnePlus’ biggest battery yet. It supports 120W SUPERVOOC wired charging that delivers a full charge in about 39 minutes, alongside 50W AIRVOOC wireless charging. OnePlus claims the battery retains over 80 per cent capacity after four years and functions even in -20°C conditions.

On the camera front, the OnePlus 15 houses a triple 50MP camera setup powered by the company’s DetailMax Engine. It includes a 50MP main sensor with OIS, a 50MP ultra-wide lens with autofocus for macro shots, and a 50MP periscope telephoto lens with 3.5x optical and 7x lossless zoom.

Display and performance

When it comes to display, the phone supports 4K 120 fps Dolby Vision video, LOG recording, and real-time LUT previews, offering pro-level flexibility for creators.

It runs on OxygenOS 16 and integrates OnePlus AI features alongside Google Gemini. One of the key highlights is Plus Mind, which allows users to save on-screen content with one gesture and access contextual help from Gemini for tasks like itinerary planning or note summarisation. Other AI tools include AI Writer for text generation, AI Recorder for transcription, and AI Portrait Glow for photo enhancement.  Besides, buyers will also get a three-month Google AI Pro trial with access to Gemini in Gmail, Docs, and NotebookLM.

The OnePlus 15 is available in Infinite Black, Sand Storm, and Ultra Violet. It combines a flat frame with rounded edges and 1.15 mm ultra-slim bezels. It’s built with LIPO technology for stronger structural integrity and features IP66, IP68, IP69, and IP69K ratings, making it one of the most durable flagships yet.

How much does it cost?

The OnePlus 15 is priced at Rs 72,999 for the 12GB+256GB variant and Rs 79,999 for the 16GB+512GB model. Buyers can avail of up to an Rs 4,000 instant discount on HDFC Bank credit cards and an additional Rs 4,000 exchange bonus for trading in select OnePlus devices. This brings the effective starting price down to Rs 68,999. Customers also get free OnePlus Nord Buds 3 worth Rs 2,299, a 180-day phone replacement plan, and a lifetime display warranty. The device will be available starting today across OnePlus.in, Amazon, and major offline retailers, including Reliance Digital and Croma.
