Both tablets are avialable for purchase on Amazon(Image Source: Amazon) Samsung launched 2 new budget tablets – the Galaxy Tab A9 and Galaxy Tab A9 Plus in India. The new pocket-friendly offerings from the South Korean tech giant are aimed at users who are looking for a budget tablet for entertainment and everyday usage.
While the Galaxy Tab A9 sports an 8.7-inch TFT LCD screen with a refresh rate of 60Hz, the Galaxy Tab A9+ has an 11-inch LCD screen with a 90Hz refresh rate. Both tablets run on One UI 5.1 based on Android 13 out of the box, are secured by Samsung Knox and feature storage expansion of up to 1TB via a microSD card slot.
The Galaxy Tab A9 Plus is available in 2 variants – 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage and 8GB RAM and 128GB storage but Samsung has limited the storage and RAM on the smaller variant to 4GB and 64GB. Both tablets support 15W charging. Another notable difference is that the Galaxy Tab A9 features 4G connectivity whereas the Galaxy Tab A9+ gets 5G support.
The Galaxy Tab A9 is powered by MediaTek’s Helio G99 chipset whereas the pricier Galaxy Tab A9 Plus features the Snapdragon 695 chipset. The smaller tablet packs a 5,100mAh battery and the 11-inch model is powered by a larger 7,040mAh battery.
Both tablets come with a 8MP rear camera with autofocus but the Tab A9 gets a 2MP selfie shooter whereas the Tab A9 Plus gets a 5MP selfie sensor that can record videos in FullHD at 30fps.
The new Galaxy Tab A series devices are available for purchase from the official website and Amazon. The Galaxy Tab A9 and Galaxy Tab A9 Plus start from Rs 12,999 and Rs 18,999 respectively.
