Samsung Galaxy C9 with 6GB RAM spotted on Geekbench

Samsung is reportedly working on a new smartphone called Galaxy C9, specifications of which were recently spotted on GeekBench. The device is listed by the name Samsung SM-C9000 on the benchmarking site and is said to have 6GB RAM. This makes the C9, Samsung’s first ever smartphone to pack 6GB RAM until now. Other specifications revealed by the site include 1.4 GHz Qualcomm octa-core processor and Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow OS.

Samsung Galaxy C9 was first spotted on Zauba, which is an Indian import-export website. The device was being shipped from China to New Delhi at Rs 17,107 per unit. As per Zauba, Galaxy C9 will feature a 5.7-inch display. However, the information on Zauba cannot be completely trusted as an earlier listing on the same site revealed 6-inch display for Galaxy C9.

In a separate set of leaks, GSM Arena posted screenshot from Antutu Benchmark for Samsung Galaxy C9, revealing its specifications. According to Antutu, the device named SM-9000 will have 16MP+16MP camera, a full HD display, 6GB RAM and 64GB internal memory. It will be powered by Qualcomm 652 processor with Adreno 510 GPU. Samsung Galaxy C9 will run Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow OS.

Samsung’s C series comprises of C5 and C7 smartphones, which are restricted to China only. The devices were announced in May. While the 32GB variant of Samsung Galaxy C5 is priced at 2,199 yuan (Rs 21,000 approx); 64GB storage variant costs 2,399 yuan (Rs 23,000 approx). Samsung Galaxy C7 is available at 2,599 yuan (Rs 25,000 approx) and 2,799 yuan (Rs 27,000 approx) for the 32GB variant and 64GB variant respectively.
