Oppo unveils Find X8 and Find X8 Pro with a unique dual periscope-telephoto camera setup

Oppo has confirmed that the Find X8 series will be available globally including in India, but there is no word on the launch date as of now.

BBK Electronics-owned Oppo recently unveiled the Find X8 and the Find X8 Pro in China on October 24. The company’s product manager for the Find Series, Zhou Yibao said that the Find X8 series features Hasselblad’s Master Camera System.

The Find X8 series flagship phones will be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9400 chipset, with the Pro variant getting an iPhone 16 series-like button on the right that lets you quickly open the camera. While the Find X8 Pro packs a curved 6.78-inch 1.5K AMOLED screen, the Find X8 has a slightly smaller flat 6.59-inch 1.5K AMOLED screen. Rumour has it that these displays will offer up to 2,300 nits in high brightness mode and will be protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2.

Like its predecessor, the Oppo Find X8 series has a circular camera island on the rear with visible Hasselblad branding along with an alert slider. In a recent post on the Chinese social media platform Weibo, Zhou Yibao confirmed that the Find X8 Pro will be the industry’s first phone to have a dual periscope lens, with the new telephoto offering improved details and more natural output when shooting from a distance.

The Find X8 features a triple camera setup that consists of a 50MP primary sensor, a 50MP ultrawide camera and a 50MP telephoto lens. According to the Oppo China website, the Find X8 Pro packs a quad camera setup with a 50MP primary camera in addition to a 50MP ultrawide sensor, a 50MP periscope lens and a 50MP telephoto camera that offers 6x optical zoom and 120x digital zoom.

On the battery side of things, the Find X8 will have a 5,630mAh battery while the Find X8 Pro is said to feature a larger 5,9120mAh battery. Both phones support 100W fast charging and 50W wireless charging. Pete Lau, SVP and chief product offer at Oppo also confirmed that these devices will run on ColorOS 15 based on Android 15 out of the box.

The Oppo Find X8 and the Find X8 Pro start from 4,199 yuan and 5,999 yuan respectively, which roughly translates to approximately Rs 49,609 and Rs 70,875. While the company did confirm that the Find X8 and the Find X8 Pro will be available globally including India, there is no word on the launch date, which means you might anywhere between a few weeks to months.
