Apple’s 2025 lineup of iPhones will closely resemble the current iPhone 15 series. However, with the iPhone 17 series next year, Apple is set to introduce a new addition, touted to be the slimmest iPhone to date. Initially rumoured to be called the iPhone 17 Slim, YouTuber Jon Prosser suggests it will be named iPhone 17 Air.
The name iPhone 17 Air aligns more with Apple’s naming conventions, as seen with the iPad Air and MacBook Air. Reports indicate that the iPhone 17 Air, despite its large 6.7-inch screen, will be distinctively thinner and positioned between the iPhone 17 and iPhone 17 Pro in terms of pricing and specifications.
Other features of the iPhone 17 Air include an A19 chip and a single 48MP camera. It is expected to look drastically different from previous iPhone models and may feature a much smaller Dynamic Island.
Prosser also suggests that the iPhone 17 Air could replace the iPhone 17 Plus. Pricing is expected to be similar to the iPhone 15 Pro Max at $1,099. While the iPhone 17 Air is still over a year away, the iPhone 16 series is just around the corner, with Apple set to introduce it in September, featuring a new design, more powerful hardware, and enhanced Apple intelligence.
