Goodbye Apple sticker; unboxing an iPhone will never be the same from now on

To achieve its environmental goal, Apple is slowly removing one thing after another from an iPhone box.

For many years, unboxing an iPhone offered an unparalleled experience, and it’s slowly losing its charm. With the Apple iPhone 16 retail box, thanks to Apple’s environmental goal to bring down net emissions to zero by 2030, Cupertino has now axed the Apple sticker from the iPhone 16 retail box, which has been an integral part of unboxing iPhones since the very first one.

A report by 9to5Mac claimed that users who purchase or pick up an iPhone 16 from an Apple Store can still get an Apple sticker on request. However, buying an iPhone from a reseller or getting it home-delivered from the Apple Store will not make you eligible for an Apple sticker.

The Apple iPhone 16 retail box now includes the iPhone 16, some documentation, a SIM ejector pin (in India), and a braided USB-C to USB-C cable.

The trend of removing the Apple sticker started with the launch of the M2 iPad Air and the M4 iPad Pro. The iPhone 11 was the last iPhone that offered a rich unboxing experience, which included two Apple stickers, a 5W power brick, a USB cable, and EarPods.

Ever since Apple removed the charger from the iPhone box, several other smartphone manufacturers such as Samsung and Google also started removing chargers from their boxes. However, there are still plenty of brands such as OnePlus, Realme, Xiaomi, Oppo, and more that include a charger, and even a super-fast charger, with their smartphones.
