Apple’s highly anticipated ”It’s Glowtime” iPhone 16 series launch event is just a day away, which will mark the first iPhones to ship with the stable version of iOS 18. Following the launch, Apple will officially release iOS 18 to the public, making the update available across more than 25 different iPhone models.
iOS 18 introduces a host of new customisation options for both existing iPhone models and the upcoming iPhone 16 series. Apple is also rolling out Apple Intelligence on select models, offering features powered by generative AI, such as a ChatGPT-enhanced Siri, content proofreading and editing tools, and image-generation capabilities. However, these AI-backed features will arrive later with the iOS 18.1 update.

Keeping your iPhone ready for the iOS 18 update is pretty easy. Apple recommends plugging in your iPhone to a power source and connecting it to a reliable Wi-Fi network that’s fast and stable. If you are away from a wall adapter, we recommend charging the device to at least 70 per cent to ensure a smooth update process.
On top of that, make sure your iPhone has at least 10 GB of free storage to download and install the update. Just to be on the safer side, make a backup of your entire iPhone on iCloud.
Once your iPhone is prepped for the iOS 18 update
Go to Settings > General > Software Update
Tap automatic updates, then turn on download iOS updates
Click on Install iOS 18 updates
Including the latest iPhone 16 series, which includes four different models, the iOS 18 will be available for over 20 different iPhones. Out of this, only six devices will be eligible for Apple Intelligence. Here is the complete list.
