Human Mobile Devices (HMD) introduced its first set of HMD-branded feature phones, the HMD 105 and the HMD 110, on Tuesday. With a starting price of Rs 999, these are some of the most affordable devices that support the Unified Payment Interface (UPI), which allows users to send and receive money instantly.

The HMD 105 is the more affordable of the two, priced at Rs 999, and comes in black, purple, and blue. The HMD 110 is priced at Rs 1,199 and is available in Black and green. These phones will be available starting June 11 via the company’s office website and popular e-commerce platforms.

According to HMD, the 105 and the 110 are “meticulously crafted to be comfortable in hand and conveniently portable”.They offer features like call recording, wireless FM radio, MP3 player, and a camera (only on 110) that can take photos and scan QR codes for UPI payments. Again, the device doesn’t come with many international stores, and one needs to add a microSD card to make use of most of these features.

These phones feature a 1,000 mAh battery, which is said to deliver 18 days of standby time, and both phones have a modern USB-C port for charging and a 3.5mm headphone jack.

HMD is a licensee of Nokia. The company is known for reintroducing some classic Nokia feature phones, such as the recently introduced 3210, and has also launched a series of Nokia-branded Android phones. This year, at the Mobile World Congress (MWC), the company introduced its first set of HMD-branded Android smartphones and confirmed that it will launch both HMD and Nokia-branded phones in the coming days.
