BlackBerry DTEK50 launched: Specifications, features and price

BlackBerry DTEK50 could well be the Canadian smartphone company’s path to redemption. It seems to have set out to create and affordable smartphone that is secure and comes with everything an average users would want. The DTEk50 will run Android Marshmallow without any skins, but will come with a lot of BlackBerry apps pre-burned like the BlackBerry Hub, DTEK, Password Keeper, BBM and BlackBerry Calendar.

BlackBerry’s “thinnest phone ever” at 7.4mm and weighing 135 grams, the DTEK50 will comes with a 5.2” scratch resistant Full HD display. It is powered by 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 617 Octa-Core (Quad-core 1.5 GHz Cortex-A53 + Quad-core 1.2 GHz Cortex-A53) and Adreno 405, 550MHz GPU. The phone has 3 GB RAM and 16 GB Flash storage expandable up to 2TB. The 13MP auto-focus rear camera has Phase Detect Auto Focus (PDAF) with Fast focus lock while the front camera offers 8MP Fixed-Focus with f2.2 and a front flash.

BlackBerry is offering one of its best features, the intelligent keyboard as a default on this phone. The phone will have a 2610 mAh non-removable battery with Quick Charge 2.0.  There is also a fully customisable BlackBerry convenience key.
