Android smartphones are known for their customisation features and offer plenty of ways to tweak the user interface (UI) to make the phone look unique and distinctive.

Now, Android smartphone brands have started to incorporate a new feature called “AI wallpaper”. This feature is powered by a cloud-based, text-to-image generative AI model, which can create an image from a text prompt, and these images can then be set as wallpapers.

Here is a list of five smartphones that offer AI image generation integrated into the operating system (OS):

Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra

Samsung’s latest flagship, the Galaxy S24 Ultra (review), is the first smartphone to introduce this trend. Powered by the Galaxy AI, users can generate new wallpapers quickly by choosing from over nine predefined prompts and six different categories. The phone, however, does not allow custom prompts.

Moto Edge 50 Pro

Motorola’s interpretation of AI wallpaper generation is a bit different from Samsung’s. On the Moto Edge 50 Pro (review), users won’t be able to generate complete images. Instead, it creates patterns based on a picture the user chooses from the gallery or shoots on its camera. These wallpapers can match the style of clothing, accessories, architectural design, and more.

Nothing Phone (2a)

The Nothing Phone (2a) is one of the most affordable smartphones in the market with AI wallpaper generation capability. Nothing does this by mixing and matching predefined images from the customisation menu. One can either download the generated images or they can be set as wallpaper directly from the wallpaper studio option.

Infinix lets users generate wallpapers using AI, and this is similar to generating images on tools like Gemini AI, ChaGPT, or Microsoft Copilot. Users can give custom text prompts and the phone will instantly generate a wallpaper based on those. This feature is currently limited to select markets. The company has confirmed that with a software update, it will be made available for others as well.

After the OneUI 6.1 update, the Galaxy S23 (review) series of smartphone users can also generate wallpapers just like the Galaxy S24 series. This feature is also available on the Galaxy S23 FE, Galaxy Z Flip5, and Galaxy Z Fold 5 smartphones. So there, we gave you three phones extra!
