We tend to get bored with most gadgets within a few months of purchase, but Lenovo’s latest PC innovation – the ThinkBook Plus Gen 6 – with a rollable display, may keep you intrigued for a long time.

The Lenovo ThinkBook Plus Gen 6, priced at $3,499, is a compact 14-inch (2000x1600p) PC with an OLED screen. What makes it stand apart is that it can transform into a 16-inch (2000x2350p) notebook in just 10 seconds, with the touch of a button. In its new form, the PC offers a staggering 50 per cent more screen real estate. This rollable OLED screen is developed by Samsung and offers a 120Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of 400 nits.

Considering its aspect ratio when expanded, one can easily fit two full-sized (16:9) apps at once. Lenovo says it has tested this mechanism to last for up to at least 30,000 closings and openings.

Powered by the Intel Core Ultra 7 Series 2 processor with 32 GB of RAM and 1 TB of storage, this is also a Copilot+ PC that has two Thunderbolt 4 USB-C ports, and a 3.5 mm headphone jack. If you need anything else, like an HDMI or an SD card slot, an external dongle is needed.

While this rollable AI PC from Lenovo isn’t for everyone, it’s definitely for those who value the novelty factor it offers. However, for the asking price, one can easily buy two separate 14-inch and 16-inch laptops that are even more capable and portable.
