Intel announced the Core Ultra VPro processors for commercial laptops on Tuesday. Based on the “Meteor Lake” silicon, these chips offer additional security and features required by enterprises, including technologies like vPro Enterprise or vPro Essentials. These add an extra layer of privacy and security, with options for IT departments to manage notebooks powered by Intel Core Ultra VPro.

In addition to the typical features found on Intel Core Ultra processors, the VPro lineup offers additional capabilities like Intel Active Management technology, which includes features such as Remote Platform Erase, Unique Platform ID, service record, total memory encryption, Threat Detection Technology, and more. Intel is also delivering new AI experiences with these processors and has partnered with over 100 software vendors to do the same. These processors have been optimised for Windows 11 at the OS level.

Within the lineup, the company has announced 11 new processors, including the flagship Intel Core Ultra 9 185H, featuring a 16-core CPU with six performance cores, eight efficient cores, and two low-power efficient cores. Similarly, there are five processors in the Intel Core Ultra 7 lineup and five processors in the Intel Core Ultra 5 lineup. All these processors also come with Intel Arc graphics.

While some of these chips belong to the U/H series, they are also categorised into two subcategories — Intel VPro Enterprise and Intel VPro Essential. Laptops featuring Intel Core Ultra VPro processors will be available for small, medium, and large-sized enterprises from brands like Acer, ASUS, Dell Technologies, Dynabook, Fujitsu, HP, Lenovo, LG, Microsoft Surface, NEC, Panasonic, Samsung, and VAIO.
