Steam recently commenced its Space Exploration Fest sale. From building bases on newly discovered planets to exploring procedurally generated star systems, the event offers huge discounts on games “that are out of this world!”. The fest which commenced on September 2 will conclude on September 9.
If you are looking to play a space themed video game this September, here are some of the best deals you can get your hands on right now.
No Man’s Sky
Available on both PC and Mac, No Man’s Sky is undoubtedly one of the best space exploration games of all time. Featuring procedurally generated galaxies filled with planets that have unique flora and fauna, the game lets you land and explore any planet you like. Built around four pillars – exploration, survival, combat and trading, No Man’s Sky has over 18 quintillion planets and has received numerous free content updates since its launch in 2016. It can be purchased for Rs 960.

Starcom: Unknown Space
Starcom: Unknown Space is an action adventure RPG that involves space exploration, ship building and blasting off aliens. The open world title features a universe filled with over hundred star systems with undiscovered planets and more than 230 anomalies to investigate, each with their own story. If you are into space games that involve RPG elements like ship building and fighting against aliens, Starcom: Unknown Space might appeal to you. It is currently selling for Rs 880.
Want to play a space themed multiplayer game? Check out Elite: Dangerous, an open world adventure game where you start with a small starship and a handful of credits. To survive in the “futuristic cutthroat galaxy”, you will have to find your way through more than 400 billion star systems of the Milky Way. The co-op game often receives content and feature updates that react “to the way players want to play and create new gameplay opportunities for the hundreds of thousands of players” in the connected galaxy. The base version of Elite: Dangerous is available for Rs 264, but we recommended going with the Deluxe Edition if you can spend a bit more.
The Outer Worlds
Launched in 2019, The Outer Worlds is one of the best space themed action RPG titles on sale right now. Set in an alternate future, the single player game takes place in Halcyon, a far away star system that has been taken over by megacorporations. The first person title puts you in the shoes of a passenger from a lost colony ship tasked with the mission of taking down the corporations responsible for the downfall of their colony. It can be purchased for Rs 849.

Astroneer
Looking for a casual co-op space game to play with your friends? Check out Astroneer, a sandbox adventure game that lets you “explore the frontiers of outer space.” Featuring 7 planets with unique topographies like caves, lavas and more, the game involves creating bases and exploring mysterious structures. It is currently selling for Rs 600, which is less than half the original price of Rs 1,499.
